Casa V

The Casa V is the perfect single-boiler espresso machine for even the smallest kitchen. It has a very compact size with an extremely short heat-up phase of 5 to 7 minutes.

This machine includes a ring brew group and a high-quality brass boiler. Also, the expansion valve can be easily accessed for individual brewing pressure adjustment.

Features of the Casa V:

Single Boiler, Dual Purpose System:

  • Brass, insulated – The boiler is made of brass which retains heat better than stainless steel. Typically copper boilers are more susceptible to limescale when compared to stainless steel boilers. Therefore, we highly recommend using a water softener. The manufacturer wraps the boiler with insulation for maximum heat retention.
  • High volume – With a 0.4-liter capacity, this machine has one of the largest boilers on the market for under $1,000.
  • High wattage heating element – The heating element rates at a very high 1200 watts. This allows for quicker reaction time when cold water enters the boiler, short heat-up times, and quick transition from coffee to steam mode.
  • Over pressure valve (O.P.V.) – Easy access on the top of the machine, underneath the cup warming tray. This adjusts the brew pressure. Turn clockwise to increase and counter-clockwise to decrease.

Pressure Gauge:

  • Pressure gauge – Displays in real time the pressure during coffee extraction. Only 9-10 bar is needed to make espresso. This gauge will help perfect your espresso shot.
  • Updated display – Our current stock has the newer display that reads every 2 bar, instead of every 4 bar.

Steam/Water Wand:

  • Multi-purpose – Used for both steam or hot water depending on the current mode.
  • Multi-directional – This allows for flexibility to steam on the side of the machine. Enables you to prepare creamy cappuccinos.
  • Very short wait time – The small boiler and very high wattage heating element cut the wait time from coffee to steam.

Construction:

  • Stainless steel body and frame – Polished to a mirror finish and rust-resistant.
  • Water tank visibility – There is an opening on the left side of the machine that allows you to see the water level. This is a lot easier than opening the top cover and peeking in.
  • Drip tray – All stainless steel tray and grate. Easily removable for cleaning.

Controls:

  • Push button controls – Simple to use. All controls are on the front face of the machine. The main controls are on the left side in a 2×2 grid.
  • Power switch – Located in the front upper left. The light above indicates that the unit is on.
  • Coffee switch – Located in the front upper right. The light above indicates the pump is on running water through the grouphead.
  • Steam switch – Located in the front lower left. The light above indicates the heating element is active.
  • Hot water switch – Located in the front lower right. The light above indicates the wand is active for hot water.
  • Steam knob – Located on the front right. Being on the front instead of the right reduces the overall width and helps save counter space. After activating steam or hot water mode, turn the knob counter-clockwise to open the wand.


Accessories included with the Casa V:

  • Portafilters – Dual spout portafilter. 58 mm in diameter. Commercial grade quality similar to the other ECM machines.
  • Filter baskets – 1-cup filter basket which holds approximately 7 grams. 2-cup filter basket which holds approximately 14 grams. Blind filter basket which you use for backflushing. 58 mm in diameter.
  • Tamper – Manufacturers will normally include a plastic tamper like this to keep the overall selling price of the machine low. We recommend upgrading to a better tamper.
  • Cleaning brush – A brush specifically for cleaning the grouphead. There are ridges on the neck of the brush to help prevent scalding water from reaching your hand.
  • Silicon hose – This attaches to the water tank adapter if you are going to use an inline water softener such as the Ascaso water softener.
  • Instructional manual – Written in 3 languages: German, English, and Dutch.

Warranty

Almost all machines come with a free, 12-month manufacturer's warranty. Please contact us at 1-888-908-2875 if you have any questions regarding warranty for your specific machine.

The warranty covers manufacturer defects and does not cover general wear and tear (grinder burrs, plastic parts, filters, gaskets, etc). The warranty is voided by not using a proper water filter which may causing water or scale build-up damage to the machine. It is also voided by Acts of God (floods, fire, weather), using the product outside its intended use (for example, using home machines in a commercial setting or vice versa), and by not performing necessary maintenance, preventative maintenance, faulty installations, power surges or shortages, shipping damage, or external factors causing damage.

Repairs done outside of Cafe Last's service network violate the warranty, and Cafe Last will not be held responsible for any charges incurred.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. 

Damages must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Many of our machines are tested before being shipped out, per the industry standard. Your order may have water leakage, fingerprints, and other signs of light usage due to testing. These do not count as damages and are not eligible for refunds. Additionally, these are not refurbished machines, unless otherwise noted.

Exchanges 

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

You will be responsible for the cost of returning the item, and need to provide a valid tracking number. Please reach out to us to see if an exchange is possible. 

Returns

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Returns are up to the sole discretion of the manufacturer and Cafe Last.

To start a return, you can contact us at support@cafelast.com. If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. 

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. Please note there is a 15-25% restocking fee plus all other charges incurred in the order process by us (such as freight to and from, service/installation, or any other costs that are similar) for all refunds depending on manufacturer.

If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Please note there are no returns for any commercial equipment. All sales are final. Most machines have a 12 month limited warranty - please check the manufacturers guidelines for specific details.
